1.) What is a cookie?

Cookies are usually small files, coming from the web sites you visit, that are stored on your computer. Cookies are stored on your computer’s browser directory. Next time you are going to visit a web site, the web browser will transmit the information to the web site or it’ll be done by a different web server (“third party”) that originally created these cookies. To get more information about this technology and about cookies functioning please visit, for example, www.allaboutcookies.org.

2.) Technical cookies.

“Technical” cookies are used to “transmit a communication over an electronic communication network, or if strictly necessary to the provider of an information service explicitly requested by the subscriber or the user of the service” (art. 122, par 1, of Privacy Policy). These cookies are usually installed directly by the owner or the manager of the web site and divided into:

  • Navigation or session cookies – they are necessary for normal navigation and functioning of the web site (for example to make an online purchase or log in to private areas)
  • Analytic cookies – used by the web site manager to collect information about the number of the users and about the modes of web site browsing
  • Functioning cookies – these cookies allow the user to navigate the web using particular criteria (for example: the language, selected products for purchase) with an aim of making navigation experience better.

These cookies are specified in the table in the chapter “List of technical cookies” and for these cookies user acceptance is not requested.
